Brad Stevens: Teach Kids The Right Way To Play

PCA National Advisory Board Member and Head Coach for the Boston Celtics, Brad Stevens (@BCCoachStevens) is known as a positive coach. Before joining the Celtics, Stevens rose to prominence as the preternaturally calm and cool coach of the Butler University basketball team that he led to consecutive NCAA title game appearances.

In this clip, Stevens tells us what he thinks are the most important attributes for a youth coach -- "high energy, enthusiastic, positive." He also thinks it's appropriate for youth coaches to teach kids the right way to play, including appropriately healthy doses of constructive criticism. Most importantly, Stevens says youth coaches should treat kids in a way that gets them coming back to play.
